Presentation Summary:Because of analogical cognitive-perceptual dynamics at work in dream images and DBG game images, drama-based video games can be used as a research instrument to capture real-time neurobiological data relative to the relationship between noumenal and phenomenal patterns. Paper Abstract:Game education today should include intensive instruction relative to cognitive models and the influence of game psychology for education and cultural healing. a common denominator based on dramatic-metaphorical structure exists in diverse cognitive models—Jungian Analytical Psychology, Global Workspace Theory, and Cognitive Framing. Programmed into the computational levels of drama-based video games (DBG), these models could provide a “mind’s eye map” of Jungian psyche. Because of analogical cognitive-perceptual dynamics at work in dream images and DBG game images, drama-based video games can be used as a research instrument to capture real-time neurobiological data relative to the relationship between noumenal and phenomenal patterns. Such technologies as EEG, ECG, fMRI, and biofeedback could ultimately provide veridical data relative to the psychic processes of transformation and meaningful insight on the part of individuals and collectives.
